Daniele and Lukic Named University Faculty Scholars
Congratulations to Michael Daniele and Srdjan Lukic on being named University Faculty Scholars in the class of 2021-22.

The University Faculty Scholars class of 2021-22 was announced on January 31. A quarter of the recipients are made up by the College of Engineering faculty. Two of the recipients are Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty members, Michael Daniele and Srdjan Lukic. This achievement recognizes their outstanding efforts in research, teaching, and service at the university.
This year, 23 NC State faculty members received the designation of University Faculty Scholar. These recipients carry the title for the duration of their faculty appointment at NC State and receive an increase to their base salary.
Faculty members are nominated by their college for the award. Eligible nominees include all tenured or tenure-track associate and full professors within the first three years of appointment at that rank and assistant professors who have been reappointed for a second term.
Dr. Michael Daniele is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He joined NC State as a faculty member in August 2015. Daniele’s research interest lies in the broad application of soft nanomaterials to engineer devices that monitor, mimic or augment biological function. He graduated with his B.S in Materials Science and Engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick in 2009. He later earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Clemson University in 2012.
Dr. Srdjan Lukic is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests include design and control of power electronic converters and electromagnetic energy conversion with application to wireless power transfer, energy storage systems, and electric automotive systems. Lukic earned his Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in 2002, 2004, and 2007, respectively.
