WORKSHOP 1: “Financial Support for Graduate Education”

This workshop addresses the basics on how to secure funding for graduate school.  It will be held from 3:00 to 4:30 on Wednesday, September 10 in the Ballroom of the Talley Student Center.

Representatives from the Graduate School, Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, Cooperative Education Program and the Career Center will discuss financial support— including assistantships, fellowships, loans, Co-Op opportunities, and internships. Plenty of time will be set aside for questions.

WORKSHOP 2: This workshop will focus specifically on applying for a National Science Foundation Fellowship. 

The NSF workshop will be held on Thursday, September 18 from 3:30 to 5:00 in the WITHERSPOON Student Center Cinema.

The workshop will feature Mary Anthony from Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU). ORAU administers the national NSF Fellowship competition. Eligibility for the NSF Fellowship is restricted to U.S. citizens and permanent resident aliens of the United States.  It is intended for students who are at or near the beginning of their graduate degree programs. The NSF Fellowship is a prestigious award that provides a stipend of $27,500, and covers tuition, fees, and health insurance.  Juniors, seniors, and beginning graduate students are strongly encouraged to attend.
